The sixth annual Dublin Arabic Film Festival (DAFF) curated by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Jim Sheridan and Festival Director Zahara Moufid, opened on Friday October 4th at the Irish Film Institute in Temple Bar in Dublin. The festival was once again sponsored by the Arab-Irish Chamber of Commerce.
Dates: 1st - 10th November 2019
The Fair will be held in Baghdad city, between 1st-10th November 2019.

Further to the decisions taken at our Board Meeting held on 7th March, Mr Enda Corneille has been appointed as Chairman of the Arab Irish Chamber of Commerce.
On December 13th 2018, the chairman of the AICC Dr. Niall Holohan and the Secretary-general and CEO Mr. Ahmad Younis hosted a celebratory reception and dinner to celebrate the Christmas holidays. In attendance were Ambassadors from the Arab Embassies in Dublin and directors of the AICC.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade have extended the waiting time for documents submitted by courier to 10 working days due to the increase in volume of documents.
Ramadan is expected to start Wed 16th May and finish Thurs 14th June. During this time the Arab Embassies work reduced hours which will result in a delay with processing documentation. The Embassies will close for about 5 days for the Eid holiday at the end of Ramadan. The AICC will close approximately 14th and 15th June for the Eid holiday.

The Arab-Irish Chamber of Commerce hosted a round table discussion with the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom and the non-resident of Ireland Dr. Saleh Al-Tamimi and his accompanying delegation. A group of businessmen and representatives of Irish companies in different sectors attended the event.
Chairman of the Arab-Irish Chamber of Commerce Dr.Niall Holohan and Secretary General & CEO Mr. Ahmad Younis hosted a dinner in Dublin for all the Arab Ambassadors accredited to Ireland.
On 20 th February the AICC hosted a reception for a delegation from Saudi Arabia visiting Ireland.
The UAE authorities have announced that a certificate of good conduct and behaviour will be a mandatory requirement for obtaining a new UAE work visa from 4 February 2018.

The chairman and the Secretary-general of the AICC hosted a celebratory reception and dinner to celebrate Christmas holidays. In attendance were Ambassadors from the Arab Embassies in Dublin and directors of the AICC.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Hussain Mohamed Alam, and First Secretary Fahad Abdulziz Al Binali, hosted a celebratory reception and dinner in Dublin, on 6 December 2017.
Secretary General and CEO of the AICC Mr. Ahmad Younis held talks with senior officials from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in London. Mr. Hussain Alam Deputy Head of mission and Mr. Fahad Al Binali travelled from London to pay a visit to the AICC headquarters and discuss the promotion of trade between Ireland and Bahrain.
AICC Secretary General and CEO Mr. Ahmad Younis was a guest at a lunch organised by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The AICC was featured in the Irish Independent United Arab Emirates supplement.

The AICC hosted a business dinner for the Deputy Governor, Research and International Affairs, of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, Mr Fahad Al Shathri Ph. D, and his colleague Mr Meshari Alkadhi, during their recent study visit to Ireland. Dr Al Shathri is also a member of the Saudi Government SME Commission, and he is especially interested in learning about Ireland’s experiences in developing the SME sector which has grown so successfully in recent decades.
The AICC was pleased to welcome the newly appointed Moroccan ambassador to Ireland, HE Mr. Lahcen Mahraoui, and his Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Rachid Seghrouchni, to the Chamber on 17th January 2017 to discuss Moroccan/Irish trade and commercial relations and to consider new areas of potential opportunity in the coming years.

The new headquarters of the Arab-Irish Chamber of Commerce (AICC) was officially opened yesterday by Richard Bruton TD, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.

Irish merchandise exports to the Arab countries surged by 29% to €2.2bn in the twelve months to end May 2015. This represented an overall increase of €491m.
