The Arab-Irish Chamber of Commerce was pleased to see strong media attention around our latest report on Irish exports to the Arab world and the ongoing importance of the Gulf region for Irish businesses.
The report was covered across three respected Irish business and news outlets: the Irish Independent, the Irish Examiner and ThinkBusiness. Each article highlighted the continued strength of Irish exports to the region, with exports to Arab countries rising by 6% to almost €775 million in the first quarter of 2026, despite ongoing geopolitical tensions and disruption across key trade routes.
The coverage also reflected the wider message from AICC CEO Ahmad Younis that the Gulf remains an essential trade partner for Ireland. While Irish exporters continue to face delays, rising transport costs and uncertainty, demand for Irish goods and services across the region remains strong.
This media attention underlines the importance of maintaining strong commercial ties with Arab markets and ensuring Irish exporters, particularly SMEs, have the support they need to navigate disruption while continuing to build long-term opportunities in the region.
